I agree with Planned Parenthood — the Republican Party’s fake Violence Against Women Act, which takes away protections from victims of domestic violence should be stopped, and Rep. Lungren should vote to pass the real Violence Against Women Act that he and his Tea Party colleagues are blocking from coming to a vote in the House.
Tea Party extremists in Congress like Rep. Lungren have demonstrated time and time again that they have a real problem with women. But trying to take away current protections for women against domestic violence, and then turning around and calling it a vote for women, is as deeply disturbing as it is cynical. They’ve taken a law that, for over a decade, has helped protect vulnerable women and children, and turned it into a weapon in their war on women by removing domestic abuse protections for millions of women across the country. Texas took away funding for Planned Parenthood, now my sister’s newborn baby will no longer have healthcare. Yeah that’s right Planned Parenthood does childcare!! Didn’t think about that one when you were playing with your self richeous, bible thumping friends?!!!
